Hart / Montague Bike Trail:
“Discover the heart of Oceana County along the Hart-Montague Bicycle Trail, one of Michigan's first “rails-to-trails” linear state parks to be designated a Michigan Trailway. The bike trail offers a unique recreational experience to anyone who enjoys the outdoors. Bicyclists, joggers, hikers, rollerbladers, and even wheelchair recreationalists and cross-country skiers can easily navigate the trail's mild slopes and gentle curves as it meanders its way through more than 22 miles of fields, orchards, woods, and local downtown areas. Native species of flora and fauna abound along the scenic pathway in unspoiled habitats, yet trailside facilities are regularly and easily accessible to provide rest and resources to the travel-weary, the hungry, the curious, or the forgetful. Vacationers and local residents alike consider the Hart-Montague Bicycle Trail an Oceana County experience not to be missed.”
Courtland Carriage House B&B is located one block from the trail.
Silver Lake Sand Dunes:
“The grandeur of the unspoiled Silver Lake sand dunes loom, suddenly beyond the trees, a lifting reminder of the greatness of Lake Michigan and the state's fascinating geological history.
The
sand dunes provide a variety of activities including hiking, ORV,
swimming, sun bathing, and dune buggy rides.

These living dunes move a few inches east every year and will someday fill in Silver Lake. Every few years another cottage is overtaken by the shifting sand. “
